The London Fringe Theatre Festival is dedicated to the promotion, production, and prosperity of independent artists. We create a unique and inclusive environment where the arts will be enjoyed in the present and developed for the future.
- To guarantee unrestrained creative freedom to participants
- To provide artists with access to audiences and audiences with access to outstanding artists from the local community, elsewhere in Ontario, across Canada and around the world
- To provide artists with technical assistance, promotional support, and educational opportunities
In 1998, a group of theatre loving, arts-minded friends came together with the belief that a Fringe Festival would be an excellent addition to the arts scene in London. Their vision was to create a platform where artists and audiences would come together to share arts experiences. Organizing and planning for the first Festival began in 1998 when the London Fringe became members of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF). In 1999, the London Fringe acquired non-profit and charitable status and the first London Fringe Festival premiered in 2000.
Since 2000, the London Fringe programming has expanded from a once a year festival to an organization that presents and showcases theatre, film and visual artists throughout the year. See our Events page for a full listing of our year round activities.
